21,000 gallon oil slick traced to onshore pipeline threatens whales in ‘sensitive environment’ near Santa Barbara
A broken pipeline has spilled 21,000 gallons (79,500 litres) of crude oil into the ocean before it could be shut off, creating a slick stretching about four miles (6.4km) along the central California coastline, the US coast guard said.
