Andy Samuel will become one of Britains three best paid civil servants when the Oil and Gas Authority begins work next year
The governments newly appointed energy tsar, Andy Samuel, has been handed a £1m pay deal over three years that will make him one of Britains three best-paid civil servants.
Samuel, managing director of European exploration and production at oil and gas company BG, will head Britains Oil and Gas Authority (OGA), a new regulator charged with fostering co-operation between government and industry to halt the decline in North Sea oil and gas production.
