Russias prosecutor general requests shares of Vladimir Yevtushenkov be seized to protect government interests
A Moscow court has ordered the seizure of oligarch Vladimir Yevtushenkovs stake in the Bashneft oil company as the Russian government moves to reclaim the lucrative energy firm.
Russias prosecutor general requested the Bashneft shares belonging to Yevtushenkovs Sistema and Sistema Invest holdings be seized, arguing that in order to protect government interests the oil company should be returned to state ownership after the discovery of what it said were significant legal violations during its privatisation. An arbitration court will consider the case for handing Bashneft back to the government on 9 October.
